My mastering philosophy: I always listen carefully to the material the client is bringing in. To me, musicality and musical balance is one of the biggest concerns. Audiophile sound quality is self-evident. I don't like standard treatment, every project starts from scratch. Communication is also key to great sounding records and happy clients, so this is an important issue for me. I don't want to impose my opinion on anybody! My goal is to make my clients happy with the most musical and best sounding masters!
Vita:
As a young multi instrumentalist with classical background but highly interested in electronic music I started my career in the Music Business. At he age of 13 I got my first synthesizer and two years later I had built my own little home studio.
My technical interest led me to do internships in some recording and mixing studios. Assisting those engineers and producers, I felt my heart burning for the art of sound engineering. While still at school, I mixed live theater shows and recorded rock bands and even the school Big Band with my (then) new multitrack recording system.
I really wanted to understand what goes on technically in the machines. So I decided to start studying sound and video engineering at the Robert Schumann Hochschule and Fachhochschule Duesseldorf to get profound musical and technical background.
Since then, the magic of high end tools and the passion for sound detail were my dedication and I fell in love with the art of mastering. During the semester breaks I made internships at some of Germany's top mastering studios like Skyline, MSM, Zimmerli and finally Time Tools, as well as an internship at the renowned mastering gear manufacturer SPL. Having learned so much from those great people, I developed my mastering skills with my own sense of musicality and quality.
Since 2008 I am resident mastering engineer at Time Tools Mastering in Hanover, which is definitely one of the best sounding studios all across Europe. In November 2008 I was rewarded with the newcomer prize of the VDT student section (category Rock/Pop). I still love making music in my free time (if I have some ;-)). Since many years I'm musical director of a great gospel choir, too.
